Hyderabad: The 2BHK project in Kolluru-Phase 2, that has been recognised nationally and had bagged the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) award for best practices 2019-20 under Housing, Urban Poverty and Infrastructure theme, will be inaugurated soon.
Presently, construction of all the houses has been completed by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The mega housing project is coming up with 15,660 dwelling units at an estimated project cost of Rs 1,408 crore. The project will give a new lease of life for around 80,000 people.
The Telangana State Housing Corporation Limited (TSHCL) is coordinating with line departments to complete the pending works pertaining to electricity and supply of drinking water.
Inclusion of families under the beneficiaries list will be done by District Collectorates. A GHMC official monitoring the project said that the project has become the favourite among people who are eligible for a free house built by the State government. “The project falls in eight assembly segments and all the eligible people living in them want their dwelling unit to be allocated only in the 2BHK project in Kolluru,” he said.
This demand can be attributed to the amenities in the housing society that are on par with the ones in decent housing societies. External electrification with underground cabling, water supply through potable pipes, underground drainage system, three commercial complexes and ample parking space makes the Kolluru 2BHK a complete housing project.
The project is also equipped with power back-up for lifts, gyms, playgrounds, common lighting in corridors and places of worship. The environmentally sustainable infrastructure built in the society includes rainwater harvesting pits and an exclusive sewerage treatment plant (STP).
The GHMC officials said that a hospital, school, anganwadi centers, bus stops and a fire station are some of the other facilities that will be made available for the people as part of the project.
