The Telangana School Education Department has proposed a 10-mark weightage for contract teachers working in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) and under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) in the upcoming DSC teacher recruitment. The marks will be awarded based on the duration and location of service.

DSC, along with other recruitments, will only be notified after the SC sub-classification and impending elections conclude

Despite receiving appointment orders on October 9, with joining date as October 10, the newly appointed teachers are yet to receive their first salary, including October and November months, leaving them in a financial limbo.

In March, 11,062 posts were announced under the DSC, with candidates taking exams from July 18 to August 5. The results were declared on September 30. On October 9, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy officially handed appointment letters to the selected candidates in Hyderabad.

It is said that counselling was put off over non-receipt of information related to selected candidates from all districts

A total of 100 posts are under the sports quota.

For the first time, the teacher recruitment examination will be conducted in the computer-based test mode.
