The Hyderabad traffic police issued a traffic advisory for citizens in connection with the program of unveiling of the statue of Telangana Thalli and the carnival on NTR Marg on Monday between 2 pm and 10 pm.
Hyderabad Commissioner C V Anand, who supervised the operation on the stretch for close to two hours, stated that it was necessitated in view of the traffic slow down on the Shaikpet to Tolichowki road.
The police reported that between August 24 and November 21, a total of 13,933 motorists were booked for driving under the influence. During this period, 13,188 charge sheets were filed in various courts, leading to prosecutions. Additionally, 824 drunk drivers were sentenced to imprisonment ranging from 1 to 10 days, while 227 others were ordered to complete 2 days of social service.

Another 32 persons were asked to do social service while driving license of 19 persons were suspended. The court also levied a fine of Rs. 76.43 lakh on the violators
