Nalgonda topped the districts in paddy procurement having bought 7.83 lakh tonnes, followed by Nizamabad at 7.55 lakh tonnes and Suryapet 6.49 lakh tonnes

The persons arrested at Shadnagar were K Mahesh (39) from Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, G Doddanna (35) from Jogulamba Gadwal and Ch Jayanna (35) from Jogulamba Gadwal, all seed suppliers.

Addressing the media at the District Police Office here Nalgonda, Ravindra said the seized spurious seeds comprised 1,700 quintals of cotton seeds, 350 quintals of chilli seeds and 2,500 quintals of paddy seeds.

The decision taken by the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will help farmers take a call on which kharif (summer) crop to grow.
