An 18-year-old class XII student committed suicide by hanging herself allegedly after being reprimanded by her mother for watching TV, police said on Monday.

Governor directed the Chief Secretary, the Director General of Police and TSPSC Secretary to submit a detailed report within 48 hours.

The boy, a student of Class 7 at a school, was demanding money from parents for books. He was upset after they refused to give them money.

When Faujdar's roommate found the room locked from inside, he opened a window and saw his body hanging from the ceiling fan, the SHO said.
