According to the Hyderabad MET forecast, maximum temperatures across Telangana are expected to remain between 36°C and 40°C until May 15. In addition, widespread thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, are likely to affect the state throughout the coming week.

A yellow alert (low intensity) has also been issued for Friday in Hyderabad. “Hyderabad will have partly cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied with lightning and gusty winds,” the forecast said, adding that a similar weather pattern will continue till the weekend.

While Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts might experience thunderstorms and gusty winds at isolated places, there are several other districts that will witness intense heat

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad has forecasted rainfall across all districts of Telangana from today until Sunday. Additionally, both daytime and nighttime temperatures, which have been above normal for some time, are expected to decrease. The IMD-Hyderabad has also issued thunderstorm warnings for all districts in the state.

According to India Meteorological Department, Santacruz received 59 mm of rainfall, while the Colaba observatory recorded 14 mm

On Saturday, Telangana districts such as Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Yadadri, Nalgonda, and Khammam experienced significant rainfall.

According to the IMD-Hyderabad, a relative humidity of 75 per cent was recorded and a maximum temperature of 34.9 degrees Celsius, which is a 1.2 degree Celsius drop from Wednesday.

Around 2.30 pm, rainfall was observed in Charminar, Chandrayanagutta, Shalibanda, Malakpet, Rajendranagar, and Khairtabad, later extending to Ameerpet, Kukatpally, Begumpet, Balanagar, Bowenpally, and other parts of the city.

Power supply disruptions were also reported from across the State as trees and electric poles were uprooted by the winds. The climate changed suddenly after noon at several places and overcast conditions were witnessed.

As per the IMD Hyderabad forecast, isolated regions of Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Mulugu, and Jogulamba Gadwal districts of Telangana.

It has also forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh (SCAP), North Coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP), Yanam and Rayalaseema on Sunday.

The alert has been extended to Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal Malkajgiri districts for March 19, with a similar forecast expected to persist in these regions until March 21.

The alert has asked the public to take safe shelters and not to take shelter under trees.
