Forest officials said the male tiger named S12 aged around three years had drifted towards the forests of Tiryani after staying in the forests of Luxettipet for nearly three weeks.
The tiger, known as S12, wandered into the district’s forests a few weeks ago. Initially, it remained in the Jannaram forest range within the core of Kawal Tiger Reserve (KTR) before moving into the Luxettipet range. On November 4, it preyed on cattle in the Muthyampalli section of Luxettipet. By November 8, it had moved further into the Andugulapet and Dharmaram beats.
Locals said that a tiger from the neighbouring district was straying into the forests of Vemanapalli mandal apparently in search of territory and prey at least thrice a month
The tiger, which migrated from Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve of Chandrapur district in the neighbouring Maharashtra, drifted towards forests of Telangana.
Locals said the tiger along with its cubs made the banks of a canal as its shelter near the forest fringe village and was moving in the vicinity, panicking farmers and residents.
He urged the public not to harm the tiger and to avoid sudden confrontation with it. The people in Ankusapur, Narapur and Gondi villages are on the edge following the movement of the tiger.

Already, about 24 teams containing 120 officials and animal trackers carried out an intensive search for missing tigers in forests of Dharigaon village in Kaghaznagar mandal following the death of the two tigers.
The three reportedly confessed to the crime and admitted that they had poisoned the carcass of a cattle killed by tigers with an intention to eliminate the tiger.
