Telangana: SSC grades to be out in two weeks
Students who failed or were absent in the assessment test conducted by schools will be given minimum passing marks, say sources
Hyderabad: The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) will award grades to Class 10 students in two weeks. In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the State government had cancelled the SSC Public Examinations scheduled to be held from May 17.
The DGE, popular as the SSC Board, will award the Grade Point Average (GPA) considering marks obtained by students in the formative assessment test conducted by schools. According to the DGE sources, the formative assessment marks for 20 per cent would be scaled up to 100 per cent, and based on the final marks, a grade point would be awarded. Students who failed or were absent in the assessment test would be given minimum passing marks, they said.
This year, 5,21,393 students have registered for the SSC Public Exams.
“Schools could conduct only one formative assessment test. Now, based on that, the grades will be given in two weeks,” the sources said, adding that school managements from across the State had already sent the marks and other particulars of all students to the DGE.
“We are verifying all the details, particularly the name, father’s name, date of birth of students and their marks. After the sorting is done, we will issue hall tickets for students in a week. This hall ticket can be used by those students wanting to register for the Telangana State Polytechnic Common Entrance Test 2021,” sources said.
Last year, three papers of the SSC Public Examinations were conducted, and the rest were cancelled by the government due to the pandemic. All 5.34 lakh students were promoted, and they were allotted grades considering their internal marks. A total of 1,41,382 students, including 83,799 girls and 57,583 boys, secured a 10/10 GPA last year.
