Sangareddy: BRS district president and Sangareddy MLA Chintha Prabhakar said the SIT notice served on former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was out of political vengeance at the behest of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
The day would go down as a black day in the history of Telangana for treating the most respected man in the State in such a way, he said.
Protesting against the notice, the BRS took up a rally on Sunday wearing black badges and black scarves to the new bus station where they burnt the effigy of Revanth Reddy. When the police tried to obstruct the BRS cadres from burning the effigy, it resulted in a minor scuffle between them.
The Sangareddy MLA recalled how Revanth Reddy was caught red-handed in the cash for vote scam in 2015. Stating that Chandrashekhar Rao had earned worldwide reputation for fighting for Telangana Statehood and making the State the most developed within a decade of his rule, Prabhakar accused Revanth Reddy of resorting to political vendetta against Rao, who had the support of 60 lakh BRS cadres and the 4 crore people of Telangana.
BRS leaders Kasala Buchi Reddy, Mamilla Rajendar, Dr Srihari and others were present.
