Hyderabad: To ensure students get more hands-on training in the industry, the Osmania University College of Engineering (OUCE) has introduced full-time industrial internships for its students in the seventh semester from the current academic year. This internship is in addition to the existing one in the eighth semester.
Students successfully completing an internship in the seventh semester will be awarded 12 academic credits. “Some companies are asking for one-year internships. So we have introduced it in the seventh semester and based on the response, we will make it mandatory from the next academic year,” said Prof P Chandra Sekhar, Principal, OUCE.
To help students ace the placement rounds and plan higher education abroad, the OUCE announced skill development modules, which will be mandatory in the fifth and sixth semester.
While module-I focuses on aptitude and reasoning, module-II offers IT-related training, which will be delivered by the industry experts.
A placement brochure for the academic year 2025–2026 was released by Osmania University Vice Chancellor Prof Kumar Molugaram highlighting key recruitment statistics, major hiring partners, student achievements, departmental data, and testimonials from alumni and recruiters.
