After the fourth round of counting, Banerjee is trailing behind her one-time aide Adhikari in Nandigram in East Midnapore district by a margin of 3,710 votes.

The decision will benefit 6,944 working journalists of the state, according to a statement by the CMO.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is leading in 60 seats while Congress is leading in 26 seats.

Registration for the newly eligible population groups had commenced on April 28.

Barring weekends, essential commodities would be available on all other days during the two-week-long lockdown, the order issued by Chief Secretary S C Mohapatra said.

On Saturday, Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra reviewed counting arrangements with senior officers of the commission.
