Karimnagar: Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders performed ‘palabhishekam’ to the portrait of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekahar Rao for allocating funds for Manair river front development programme at cable bridge in the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Saturday.
TRS leaders thanked the Chief Minister for allocating Rs 310.464 crore for construction of retaining walls on either sides of Manair river under the downstream of Lower Manair Dam as part of Manair river front development programme.
The Chief Minister was allocating huge funds for the development of Karimnagar since the former has a lot of love and affection for the town, which played a vital role in separate Telangana agitation, the leaders maintained.
“People of the town would always be thankful to BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar and TS Planning Board Vice Chairman B Vinod Kumar, who were moving the town on a growth track,” they added.
As part of the Manair river front programme, a cable bridge was constructed with Rs 190 crore while Rs 80 crore was allocated for construction of check dams.
Corporators V Rajender Rao, Gande Madhavi, Ganta Kalyani, Bonala Srikanth, Sudhagoni Madhavi, Nethikunt Yadaiah, Karra Thirupati, Jangili Sagar, Thota Ramulu, Ilender Yadav, Nampalli Srinivas, Akula Prakash, Yedla Ashok, Arsha Mallesh, Kasetti Srinivas, Purumalla Srinivas, Shyamsunder Reddy and others participated in the programme.
