Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji speaking
on the ocassion of Radhashtami.
By Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhu
Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. There is no one superior to Him or equal to Him. No one can conquer Him by force or force Him to do some work. Krishna has no prescribed duties within the three worlds and whatever He does is purely for pleasure and by His own choice. Then, how is it that He depends on Radha?
Though Lord is Ajitha, unconquerable, He has one wonderful quality: He becomes conquered by the Love of His devotees. The great Lord comes under the control of His devotees by the influence of their pure devotional service rendered to Him. The devotional service rendered without any motivation for personal gratification and without cessation is extremely powerful and attracts the Lord Himself.
What is this energy that attracts the most attractive Lord? Krishna means All attractive. But He gets attracted to someone? Yes, Lord becomes attracted to pure devotional energy called Radhika. She is Para-devata or transcendental goddess.
Krishna doesn’t get attracted to any beautiful women of this world. He gets attracted to the transcendental goddess Radhika. She is the greatest devotee of the Lord. She is the topmost servitor of Krishna. She renders all comfortable services to Krishna. All services rendered to Krishna go through her.
Radhika means highest Aradhana. Since pure devotional services come under the purview of Radhika, it is most attractive to Krishna.
Nectar of Devotion explains that Krishna easily bestows the desires of any devotee for wealth, name, grains, etc. But, He doesn’t bestow the pure devotional service unto the devotee easily because He will come under the control of such a devotee! Only through Radhika, one can attain the love of godhead. Without Radhika’s mercy and blessings, one’s devotion to Krishna doesn’t mature and lead to the highest perfection.
Hence, devotees take shelter of Radhika first. They call out the names ‘Jai Radhe’ and address the Lord as Radha Krishna or Radha Govinda. When we address the Lord by first pronouncing the name of Radha, Lord becomes pleased. It is not possible to reach Krishna directly for He is Ajitha. Hence, one should take shelter of a pure devotee who has taken shelter of Radhika.
Srila Prabhupada distributed the Love of Godhead even to the people outside of India. He recommends everyone should chant 16 rounds of the following Mantra in order to attain the shelter of Sri Radha Krishna: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.
Any fortunate person who takes to chanting this mantra every day will certainly cross over the nascence of ignorance of this age and perfect his life without failure. Let’s all chant & be happy. Sri Radha Govinda ki Jai!
