Nalgonda: In addition to 4,76,727 farmers covered by Rythu Bandhu, 16,419 farmers are going to get the benefit of the scheme from December 28 for the yasangi season in Nalgonda district. According to official figures, the total number of the farmers covered by Rythu Bandhu would reach 4,93,146 in yasangi as against 4,55.392 in kharif of 2020 in the district. The farmers, who were getting benefit of Rythu Bandhu, are increasing crop season by season in the district due to multiple reasons. Covering of additional 16,419 farmers under Rythu Bandhu would cause additional burden of more than Rs 7 crore per year from this yasangi crop season.
Nalgonda district has highest number of beneficiaries of Rythu Bandhu in the State. For kharif season of 2020, Rs 592.20 cores have been transferred to the bank accounts of 4,55,392 farmers in the district while Rs 596.16 crore was transferred to the accounts of 4,63,928 farmers in yasangi of 2020-21. Similarly, Rs 596.47 crores amount of Rythu Bandhu was extended to 4,76,727 farmers for kharif-2021. For yasangi-2021-2022, Rs 616.21 crores would be deposited in the accounts of 4,93,146 farmers in the district.
Nearly 10,000 farmers have been added to the list of beneficiaries of Rythu Bandhu scheme for each crop season in the district. No action plan for yasangi According to a senior officer of Agriculture Department, on the condition of anonymity, they were struck in a peculiar situation of unable to prepare agriculture action plan for yasangi due to the decision of the State government to encourage the farmers to switch over to alternative crops in the light of decision of the FCI not to procure parboiled rice for the season. The Agriculture Department would prepare action plan for every crop season with estimations of the crop wise area of extension of cultivation and requirement of seeds and fertilizers. The district officials would submit an action plan to the State government.
Based on an action plan, fertilizer and seed would be supplied to the districts. The officials of agriculture department lacked the clear idea of crop pattern of the farmers in view of the decision of the government not to procure parboiled rice from the State. Hence, the officials believe there may be no action plan for yasangi.
