Eight persons, including two policemen, were injured in the clashes in different parts of the town on Sunday night, reportedly triggered by an accident involving two motorcycles

The police said antisocial elements were found to be spreading rumours along with videos in social media and trying to fan communal violence in the city.

A Sub-Inspector and five journalists covering the clashes suffered injuries.
