In April, the police conducted a special drunk driving check across Cyberabad. They caught 1287 persons during the month and booked cases against them

The highest number 83 persons caught are aged between 31 and 40 years followed by 78 persons who are aged between 21- 30 years.

Of them, 176 were driving two-wheelers, 19 were auto drivers and 23 were driving cars

The police booked cases against all the violators and asked them to appear before the court. The vehicles of the violators were also detained by the traffic police.

A majority of the offenders — 248 individuals — were caught riding two-wheelers under the influence of alcohol. Among all traffic zones in Cyberabad, Miyapur recorded the highest number of cases with 53 people booked.

The Cyberabad traffic police during drunk driving checking on Saturday night caught 193 people and booked cases against them. Among those caught include 160 two wheelers, 6 three wheelers, and 27 four wheelers.

During the meeting, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Joel Davis emphasized the importance of conducting regular meetings to effectively monitor and assess traffic conditions. By engaging with senior officials from all divisions, he analyzed areas with heavy traffic congestion, pinpointed key traffic hotspots, and evaluated daily traffic patterns, including peak and off-peak hours.

Among those apprehended for drunk driving were 425 two-wheeler riders, 24 three-wheeler drivers, 60 four-wheeler drivers, and four heavy vehicle operators. Traffic police officials stated that all individuals caught will be presented in court for further action.

The works are being taken up from August 8 to 12 between 11 pm and 6 a.m.
