Hyderabad witnessed grand celebrations of Eid ul Adha as thousands gathered for prayers at major Eidgahs. Animal sacrifice, traditional food, and bustling sheep markets marked the three-day festival that began on Saturday, drawing crowds from nearby districts as well.

The check posts which will be manned 24X7 will have armed policemen, local police and a team of veterinary doctors to check the fitness of the cattle being brought to the city from districts

Scores of people dressed in festive attire gathered at mosques and idgahs across the city and attended the Eid prayers in morning.

On Saturday night, public representatives including local MLAs and officials of TS Wakf Board and police department inspected the arrangements being made for prayers at the Eidgah Mir Alam.

The police have set up checkpoints in the city where a team of officials from various departments are checking the documents that are necessary for transportation of the cattle.

The silver lining this time is there is no major increase in the prices of livestock.
