In a complaint to ECI on Friday, the union Minister said the complaint lodged by TRS MLA was ill intentioned and was yet another attempt of TRS to vitiate the Munugode bypoll.

The Telangana High Court dismissed the writ petition filed by the BJP seeking to declare the decision by the authorities concerned to accept about 25,000 new voter claims in Munugode constituency as illegal.

The Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana recommended stringent action against KMV Jagannadha Rao, former RO of Munugode Assembly constituency, for changing the allotted symbol to an independent candidate.

In a statement, Rama Rao said through such actions, the BJP's pressure on the EC which was expected to uphold the spirit of democracy without any bias, was evident.

The ruling TRS (BRS) had been requesting the ECI not to allot the "road roller" and other symbols which resemble its "car" symbol during the Munugode by-election, with the requests now appearing to have been in vain.
