In a statement, the Chief Minister observed that people residing in inundated areas have suffered severe losses after rain water entered into their homes and damaged their essential commodities.

The Chief Minister, in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said the State had suffered losses to the tune of Rs 5,000 crore in the heavy rains and subsequent flash floods across the State.
The Chief Minister has asked all officials concerned to come prepared for the meeting since the State government has to submit a report to the Centre on the losses caused by the heavy rains and flash floods in the State.
MAUD Minister KT Rama Rao pointed out that the TRS had set an example for others by getting women to win from 79 municipal divisions though only 75 seats reserved to them of the total 150 divisions in the GHMC.
The special session was called for following the Cabinet approval for amendments to the GHMC Act 1995, the Non Agricultural Land Assessment (NALA) Act, and the Registrations Act among others.
