After a day-long break, the foot march started as per schedule around 7 am from Hiranagar near the International Border along the Jammu-Pathankot highway which was sealed by police and other security forces.

Anshu Awasthi, spokesperson for the party's Uttar Pradesh unit, said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reached Mavikalan from Delhi prior to the yatra's resumption.

Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi said, "The love between a mother and a son is eternal and priceless. Modi ji, my love, and support is with you in this difficult time. I hope your mother gets well soon."

Congress MP also made a streak of paying tributes to former Prime Ministers including Indira Gandhi at Shakti Sthal, father Rajiv Gandhi at Veer Bhumi, and Lal Bahadur Shastri at Vijay Ghat on Monday.

Rahul Gandhi, who is leading the over 3,500-km long Kanyakumari to Kashmir "Bharat Jodo Yatra" since September 7, is in the national capital on a nine-day break.

They were accompanied by Priyanka's husband Robert Vadra.

"The policies of the BJP and RSS are to spread fear and hatred, we will not allow it. I have opened a shop of love in the hatred market," he said.
