Singareni Collieries Company Limited CMD N Balram said the way coal production was picking up the company's turnover was likely to increase four fold in next few years.

To supply sufficient coals to thermal plants, the SCCL needs to produce at least 2.20 lakh tonnes per day. However, currently it was able to produce just 1.10 lakh tonnes, creating problems for the plants.

SCCL CMD N Balram said those who have worked for 190 days in underground mines and 240 days in surface mines and departments in a calendar year since joining the organization were being regularized.

SCCL Kothagudem area achieved 92% of its July coal production target, producing 9.18 lakh tonnes. It transported 10.91 lakh tonnes by road and rail.
