On January 8, Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan visited rain-affected areas in Puducherry, instructing officials to address sewage canal blockages.

Protesting against Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan’s delay in giving a nod to the TSRTC merger bill, members of various RTC unions and employees staged protests at various places across Hyderabad and TS.

In her recommendations, she said that the ownership of the lands, assets and properties of the TSRTC be vested with the Corporation itself for its sole and exclusive use, even post the absorption of the RTC employees as government employees.

Though Soundararajan had left for Puducherry on Friday itself, employees protesting in front of the Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday were called in for talks, reportedly to be conducted over teleconference by the Governor.
