The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) employees and retirees across the State will no longer have to come to the RTC Hospital at Tarnaka in Hyderabad for treatment of their ailments.

The seating of buses on some routes has been changed on an experimental basis on busy routes. If this policy is successful, it will be implemented in other routes as well.

Presently, prajavani is being conducted on every Monday for all the people. All sections of the people will submit their problems to the notice of officials. Hereafter, the district administration will conduct a separate prajavani for disabled from 1 pm to 2 pm.

Despite an increase in the population and the demand for better connectivity, there has not been a corresponding rise in the number of buses or an improvement in route planning.

Telangana State Road Transport Corporation has revised the ticket prices by up to Rs 1.50 in the special buses to be operated on the occasion of Karthika Pournami.

The 10 per cent discount, valid till January 31, 2025, is applicable on all TGSRTC AC buses in Telangana and other States.

The package includes visits to spiritual destinations such as the Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy temple in Kanipakam in Andhra Pradesh and Golden Temple in Vellore, along with the Arunachalam Giri Pradhakshina.

The services have been launched as a pilot project in Hyderabad, covering 31 areas, with plans to expand to other districts soon. Some of the areas included in the launch are MGBS, JBS, CBS, Dilsukhnagar, KPHB, Uppal, Kushaiguda, Ranigunj, Jeedimetla, Santoshnagar, Auto Nagar, Cherlapalli, Medipally, and SR Nagar.

The government is contemplating to rope in SHGs for operating buses, particularly in rural areas and on routes where there are inadequate or no bus services.

Key measures include setting up Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSF) and Automated Testing Stations to ensure safe and eco-friendly scrapping.

These special buses will be available for passengers from October 1 to 15 and advance reservation facility has been provided in them.

A private firm JBM will operate all these electric buses from Karimnagar-2 depot, which has already been handed over to the private operator.

TGSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar said these special buses will be operated on the day to facilitate hassle-free movement of devotees.

In the past, RTC has provided concessions for hired or contract buses during Kartika Masam, Vanabhojanam and Sabarimala Ayyappa Darshan.
