After light rainfall over the last two-three days, the intensity picked up since Wednesday evening, with more showers in the island city compared to suburbs
Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Tanaji Wakade, who visited several low lying areas, directed the engineering wing officials to set up task forces to handle emergency situations in a speedy manner in the case of excessive rainfall.
GHMC has also asked the public to not litter in nalas and requested the IT companies to take precautions and adjust timings to avoid traffic congestion.
The collector, along with Nizamabad Municipal Commissioner M Makarand visited many problematic areas of the city, examined the drainage in Nizam Colony.
