Expressing disappointment over the lack of action by both central and state governments in the past decade, Sharmila pointed out the severe consequences for Andhra Pradesh across various sectors.

On her first visit to home district YSR Kadapa after taking charge as the president of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Sharmila met Sunitha Reddy. During the meeting that lasted for two hours, they discussed various issues.

The rivalry between YSR siblings has been escalating since Sharmila assumed the presidency of the APCC, and it is expected to intensify as the upcoming simultaneous elections for the state Assembly and Lok Sabha approach.

Under these plans, discussions are on among Ministers and senior leaders in the Telangana Congress.

Commencing the tour, she travelled in an APSRTC bus from Palasa to Ichapuram, engaging in conversations with passengers about the state's development activities.

According to Ramakrishna Reddy, Sharmila altered her accent, tone and tenor on seeing some Congress party supporters and mostly allegedly reiterated the dialogues uttered by TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu.

"If all the previous and current debts are added together, the debt incurred by the state is 10 lakh crores," the APCC chief added.

He joined Congress in presence of YS Sharmila, who welcomed him into the party fold by putting a Congress scarf around his neck.

YS Sharmila has assumed charge as the president of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee at Ahwanam Convention center at Kanuru after a rally from Gannavaram Airport in Vijayawada on Sunday.

The event, attended by party leaders, aims to bolster the Congress's position ahead of the upcoming elections.

Upon meeting the JanaSena party chief, Sharmila extended invitation to attend her son YS Rajareddy’s wedding.

YS Sharmila joined the Congress earlier this month. She also merged her party, the YSR Telangana Party, into Congress.

YS Sharmila was inducted into the party by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in the presence of former party president Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders, including the general secretary of the organisation, KC Venugopal.

Speaking to the media after meeting Chandrababu Naidu, YS Sharmila asserted that cordiality between politicians is essential and she will not have any political dealings with Chandrababu whatsoever.
