The BJP MPs from the State led by Union Minister G Kishan Reddy met Union Minister for Human Resource Development and sought the Central government's intervention in protecting the 400 acres of land at Kancha Gachibowli and halting the land auction

Students owing allegiance to the BRSV, PDSU and AISF took out a rally up to the University gate, where the police foiled their attempts to burn an effigy. The students then squatted on the road, raising slogans and arguing with the police

In a statement, the CPI (M) claimed that police were brutal on the protesters and lathi-charged them for protesting at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) main gate on their demands

The protesters, including from BRSV, PDSU, AISF and SFI, demanded immediate withdrawal of land auction and wanted protection of the land and wildlife there

A large number of students from various hostels marched in a rally to the university administration building where they are currently holding the protest.

Rama Rao took to X, questioning Rahul Gandhi over restrictions imposed on the BRS leaders to prevent them from visiting the University of Hyderabad (UoH), where students are protesting against the deforestation of the 400 acres at Kancha Gachibowli

The company is investing a whopping Rs 3,000 crore in its units at Warangal and also Sitarampur near Hyderabad to produce a massive 22 lakh garments per day

He also said the 400 acres planned for auction by the State government falls under forest limits.

The type of entry will be for five positions including General Duty, Technical, Clerk/Store Keeper Technical, Tradesman (Class 10 and Class 8 pass) and Women General Duty in Corps of Military Police

Students condemned the auction of land in Kanche Gachibowli by the State government and demanded the release of UoH students who were detained by police

The heightened security comes just hours after BRS extended support to the students' agitation against the clearance of 400 acres of greenery in Kancha Gachibowli

Though the details of the time and date of the incident were yet to be known, it happened when the young woman had gone to meet her friend in Meerpet
