Towns and villages in Telangana witnessed tremendous growth in TRS rule: Puvvada
Ajay Kumar along with Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud and Women and Child Development Minister Satyavathi Rathod inaugurated several development works in erstwhile Khammam on Saturday.
Khammam: Infrastructure development has gained momentum in the rule of TRS government in the State, asserted Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar. For the past six years Telangana villages and towns have made tremendous growth as the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has allotted huge amounts of funds for their development.
Ajay Kumar along with Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud and Women and Child Development Minister Satyavathi Rathod inaugurated several development works in erstwhile Khammam on Saturday. They laid the foundation stone for central lighting and divider works worth of Rs 45 lakh, inaugurated soaps and shampoo manufacturing unit built at a cost of Rs. 40 lakhs, nutri mix and dry mix manufacturing unit set up at a cost of Rs. 40 lakhs by ITDA at Bhadrachalam town in Kothagudem district.
They inaugurated the PACS Petrol Bunk at Satyanarayanapuram village of Charla mandal in Kothagudem district. Ajay Kumar along with MLA Vanama Venkateswar Rao laid foundation stone for central street lighting and dividers works worth Rs 1.50 crore at Kothagudem. A chill and turmeric processing unit at Sudimalla in Yellandu Assembly constituency and a newly constructed excise office building have also been inaugurated at Kothagudem by the ministers.
Speaking on the occasion Ajay Kumar said that the creation of smaller districts has helped to develop small towns and villages in an extensive manner. The face of towns and villages was now changed with the implementation of the Palle Pragathi and Pattana Pragathi programme.
Focus on tribal self-reliance
Minister Satyavathi Rathod said the Chief Minister wanted the tribal people, especially the youth to become financially independent. The government has planned to provide multi-purpose vehicles under ‘driver cum owner scheme’ to around 7500 persons in the current year.
Similarly through the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) the government was promoting entrepreneurship by setting up small scale industrial units that were engaged in soap making, nutritional power making and agriculture produce processing units. Later on the day Satyavathi Ratho and Ajay Kumar inaugurated a Working Women’s Hostel at Nayabazar in Khammam city and moringa leaves processing unit at Mucharla village of Kamepally mandal in Khammam district.
Speaking on the occasion the ministers called upon the tribals to make effective use of government schemes to grow financially. Rathod informed that assets worth about Rs 22.16 crore have been distributed to the beneficiaries in erstwhile Khammam on Saturday.
