Thousands of idols were installed by people in towns and villages across both the Telugu states

With southern movies on a winning spree, it is not surprising to see Ganesha idol versions of star cousins Allu Arjun and Ram Charan popular in pandals across India. These images are trending on social media too.

While Hindu activists performed purification of the ground with 'gomutra' (cow urine), a bomb squad conducted checks before the installation of an idol of Lord Ganesh. Drones have also been deployed in the premises for security purpose.

A total of 24 locations across the city have been selected for installation of these unique ponds that can be assembled and set up when needed and filled with water

Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav reviewed the arrangements ahead of the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

The Vinayaka Chaturthi festivity is among the most celebrated in the country, and people all over are geared up to welcome the Ganesh idols made of their favorite characters.

GHMC will deploy 280 cranes at lakes located in different parts of the city to facilitate Ganesh Idol immersion and around 9,000 sanitation staff will be pressed into service under its jurisdiction

The buffalo milk will be procured at Rs 49.40 per litre and the cow milk at Rs 38.75 per litre from dairy farmers, commencing from September 1.
