Rachakonda CP said the police are extending all support to the devotees and asked them to cooperate with the police. He appealed to the devotees to visit the lakes and ponds which are notified by the GHMC and police for immersion of the idols.

It being the fifth day of the Vinayaka Chaturthi festivities, the idol immersions picked pace not only at the bigger water bodies including Hussain Sagar, but also smaller ponds and lakes.

A total of 24 locations across the city have been selected for installation of these unique ponds that can be assembled and set up when needed and filled with water

GHMC will deploy 280 cranes at lakes located in different parts of the city to facilitate Ganesh Idol immersion and around 9,000 sanitation staff will be pressed into service under its jurisdiction
