The total area sown in the State is 28.56 lakh acres as on Wednesday against the season normal cultivation area of 47.85 lakh acres

The total worth of the paddy procured so far is Rs 12,051 crore and already Rs 11,000 crore has been deposited into the farmers bank accounts.

Addressing the general body meeting of Siddipet Zilla Parishad, the Minister said the Telangana government had utilised the MNREGS fund by building platforms to dry grains at agriculture fields for the benefit of the farming fraternity.

Telangana government spent a massive Rs 1.07 lakh crore and procured 6.06 crore tonnes of paddy in the last eight years.

The State government procured over 26 lakh tonnes of paddy from over 4.16 lakh farmers through 6,129 procurement centres
