When the Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao reached Prakash Nagar during late evening hours he was gheraoed by the residents who shouted slogans against him.
The affected farmers said the hurried inauguration of the project pump houses had turned futile as water was not released into the canal after the inauguration
Reacting to a farmer’s appeal for providing insurance facility to crops, the Minister made these comments while participating in Rythu Bharosa consultation meeting held in a private function hall here on Friday.
60 percent of the amount spent for the project would be contributed by the Central government, 30 percent by the State government and 10 percent would be from the municipal funds.
Additionally, the drone will be used for training rural youth, self-help groups (SHGs), and agricultural graduates. The PJTSAU Drone Academy will conduct training sessions using these drones, a press release said.
