Residents of Malgi and neighbouring villages in Sangareddy district strongly opposed the establishment of a chemical unit by Sree Asha Aldehydes and Adhesives during a public hearing. Farmers highlighted that the site lies in the catchment of the Manjeera river, a vital drinking water source for Hyderabad and Medak.
The Telangana Praja Sanghala Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) has accused Sangareddy police of threatening its members against attending a public hearing at Malgi village in Nyalkal, organised by the district administration on the proposed establishment of Sree Asha Aldehydes and Adhesives Pvt Ltd.
TPJAC sensitised villagers in Nyalkal mandal about the ill-effects of the proposed Sree Asha Aldehydes and Adhesives Limited. Experts warned of pollution risks, flaws in the EIA report and the impact on Manjeera river and neighbouring Karnataka villages
