Cyberabad traffic police booked 283 individuals for drunk driving during a special check on Saturday. Most were two-wheeler riders aged between 31–40 years. Vehicles were detained and offenders will face court proceedings. Six drivers had dangerously high BAC levels.

Cyberabad police caught 305 drunk drivers in a special Saturday night drive, including 242 two-wheeler riders. The highest number of violations was reported in Miyapur. Most offenders were aged between 31–40, highlighting growing DUI concerns in Hyderabad's outskirts.

Among those caught are 199 two wheelers, 10 three wheelers and 43 four wheelers

Along with fines, 22 persons were ordered to do service for three hours in the premises of the district court.

Out of the total, 918 were two-wheeler riders, 45 were three-wheeler drivers, 98 were four-wheeler drivers, and one was a heavy vehicle driver. In terms of BAC levels, 196 individuals registered between 30-50, 463 between 51-100, 226 between 101-150, and the remaining 112 recorded levels between 151-200.

Many people have already been sentenced to one day imprisonment/fine

The police booked cases against all the violators and asked them to appear before the court. The vehicles of the violators were also detained by the traffic police.

Violators will be sent for counselling at Traffic Training Institutions

The accident occurred around 12.30 am near Muktanand cross roads in the Karelibaug area following which the driver, Rakshit Chaurasiya, was arrested, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Panna Momaya.

In 2024, a total of 2,15,927 e-challans were issued to motorists for traffic violations in the district, marking a 40% increase from 1,53,230 in the previous year. Fines amounting to Rs. 5 crore were levied on the violators, compared to Rs. 3.37 crore during the same period last year.

District First Class Judicial Magistrate Upanishedwani delivered the verdict, sentencing eight individuals who had been arrested for drunk driving by the Naspur police recently.

A policeman stopped a school bus after finding it swerving. On checking, the driver was found to be drunk. The bus was seized and the children sent home in another bus in Kalyan of Thane.

Three trainee pilots were killed in a road accident near Pune

A total of 237 persons were caught for drunk driving during a special drive conducted by the Cyberabad Traffic Police during the weekend on December 7 and 8. Of them, 191 were two-wheelers, 35 four-wheelers and 11 three-wheelers.
