While agreeing to a debate on the development of Hyderabad, Energy Minister Jagadish Reddy said that people want relief at this juncture and not verbal challenges.

Speaking at a Meet the Press organised by the Telangana Journalists Union (TJU) here on Monday, Raghunandan Rao alleged that Dubbak was neglected by the State government over Gajwel and Siddipet.

The Congress spokesperson alleged that the State government has been eavesdropping on opposition party leaders for a long time.

The Prime Minister said that BJP's win in Telangana's Dubbak is historic and lauded efforts of party workers.

While the BJP candidate secured 62,984 votes, the TRS nominee polled 61,553 votes. The BJP got just 0.12 per cent more votes than TRS. 

Bandaru Nagaraju, an independent candidate who was allotted the 'rolling pin with board' symbol, polled a significant 3,570 votes to finish in the fourth place in Tuesday's result.

He thanked the people who voted for TRS and also party activists who strived hard during the campaign.

TRS working president and IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao on Tuesday said the party accepts the verdict of the people in favour of the BJP in the Dubbak by-election.

So far 45,175 votes were counted, BJP got 20,226 votes, TRS polled 17,559 and Congress polled 3254 votes.

According to the official results up to the second round Raghunandan Rao polled 9223 votes, Sujatha 7964 and Srinivas Reddy of Congress was polled only 1931 votes.

Arrangements for counting of votes were made by the officials by strictly adhering to Covid-19 regulations.

Siddipet: The outcome of Dubbak Assembly constituency by-election is expected to be known by 12.30 pm on Tuesday. Counting of ballot papers will be taken up first at 8 am and subsequently, at 8.30 am, the EVM machines will be taken up for counting. The counting will be conducted in 23 rounds on 14 tables. […]

The returning officer, who visited Indur Engineering College, the venue, to check the arrangements, said the entire counting process will be videographed to ensure transparency.

The election for the constituency was held on November 3 and the EVMs were shifted to the strong room the same night.
