India recorded 28,903 new infections--the highest so far this year-- taking the total COVID-19 tally to 1,14,38,734, according to the Union Health ministry

The state had earlier reported more than 15,000 cases on October 2 last year, after which new cases had declined

A total of 207 persons recovered on Thursday taking the cumulative Covid-19 recoveries in the State to 2,96,373 with a recovery rate of 98.82 per cent

A total of 415 persons recovered on Saturday taking the cumulative Covid-19 recoveries in the State to 2,83,463 with a recovery rate of 97.81 per cent, while the countrywide recovery rate was 96.4 per cent.

GHMC accounted for the most number of cases with 54, followed by Rangareddy and Karimnagar with 15 and 13 respectively

Worldwide, more than 1.3 million people have died of Covid-19 and over 55 million have been reported infected with the virus since it first surfaced in China late last year.

India comes in second place in terms of cases at 7,651,107, while the country's death toll soared to 115,914.

The United States remains the nation hit the worst by the pandemic, with the world's highest caseload and death toll, accounting for nearly 20 per cent of the global deaths.

So far, a total of 37,89,460 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 2,20,675 have tested positive and 1,96,636 persons have recovered.

India comes in second place in terms of cases at 7,120,538, while the country's death toll soared to 109,150.

The US is the worst-hit country with the world's highest number of cases and deaths at 7,711,079 and 214,337, respectively, according to the CSSE.

A total of 2,239 persons have recovered on Tuesday, taking the cumulative Covid-19 recoveries in the State to 1, 77, 008 with a recovery rate of 86.45 percent.

Between Sunday and Monday, 50, 598 Covid tests were conducted in the State while reports of another 858 samples are awaited.
