The engineers and officials testified before the Commission have been asked to submit their version of the issues involved in the construction of the project in writing on or before June 25.

The Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI) has already been engaged in intensive studies on the barrages.

The latter had briefed the commission on sequence of proceedings that led to the decision for taking up the construction of three barrages at Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla and the source of water that was lifted from Godavari river.

The team had a thorough inspection of the barrages and the sagging portions of the structures during its first visit on March 7 and 8.

In a point-by-point rebuttal, the former Deputy Chief Minister said the presentation on Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) during the Ministers' visit exposed the false propaganda of the Congress.

The Irrigation officials have already sounded out three such organisations for shouldering the task. They are engaged in preliminary-level talks with their Indian counterparts. The agency to be entrusted with the responsibility will be finalised soon, they said.  

The teams would take notice of any unusual features such as cracks , bulges and hallows which could be indicative of the deterioration of the structures.
