The polling, which began on a dull note at 7 a.m., picked up momentum after 9 a.m. as a large number of voters, including women, turned out to cast their votes.

Police had stopped Sanjay last night pointing out that non-locals were not allowed in the constituency as polling was scheduled on Thursday.

Voting is underway in six states including Bihar, Odisha, Haryana, Telangana, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.
