The murder took place around 3 am when Shafi along with four or five persons came to Pasha's house, broke open the door and attacked them mercilessly with hunting sickles and knives.

Nagabhushanam was allegedly murdered by his son as the victim had married another woman following the demise of his first wife last year.

The victim was tortured and beaten before being killed

On getting information, DSP A Balaji and Town Inspector B Ramesh rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Government Hospital for postmortem.
