Former minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy pointed out that there was no mention about the support for the tenant farmers and the farm workers in the State budget.

Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Wednesday hinted that the framework for the scheme would be finalised only after the implementation of the farm loan waiver scheme by the end of August.

The RBI informed that due to technical problems, around Rs 84.94 crore was not credited into 17,877 bank accounts which would be now returned to the State government after rectifying the issue, said Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao charged that the Congress government was yet again deceiving the farmers.

MLA T Harish Rao outlined numerous flaws in the current guidelines and demanded immediate changes to support farmers effectively. He said the loan waiver norms must be simplified and inclusive, in order to waive loans availed by every farmer.

Accusing Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, BJP Medak MP M Raghunandan Rao alleged that the constitution of cabinet sub-committee for the implementation of Rythu Bharosa was an attempt to delay the scheme.

He criticised the Congress rule, stating that their tenure had historically led to mismanagement of the State administration and dissatisfaction among the people.

In a statement, Rama Rao lashed out at the State government for imposing numerous restrictions to reduce eligible farmers.

They made it clear that Maharashtra state, especially its peasant community was more in need of the BRS and its support for reviving the fortunes of the farmers.

He stated that the Government would come out with a whitepaper on the way the crop investment support was implemented so far and the way forward in the budget session either in June or early July.

Pointing out that the Congress party had secured a vote percentage of 39.5 per cent in the Assembly elections, he said the party would improve it in the Lok Sabha elections

“One guarantee is still left. Due to the model code of conduct, we could not implement the guarantee,” Kharge said at a press conference here on Friday.

The Congress had promised everything for everyone, but was imposing conditions for their implementation after assuming power.

Taking a jibe at Revanth Reddy, the BRS chief said though the Chief Minister proved to be inefficient in keeping up his promises.

Stopping the supply of KCR kits to lactating women in government hospitals, irrigable and drinking water scarcity were also the changes brought by the Congress.

Moves are afoot to assuage the ruffled feelings of farmers overnight, which in fact could be seen as a victory of the BRS, which has been relentlessly raising the issue of non-payment of Rythu Bandhu to farmers.
