Major temples in Hyderabad and its outskirts have begun witnessing a significant influx of devotees. Extensive arrangements have been made at the renowned Ramalingeshwara temple atop Keesaragutta, which attracts a large number of worshippers.

From early in the morning, devotees were seen standing in long, winding queues at the temples to receive the 'uttaradwara' darshan of the presiding deities.

From the early hours of Wednesday, the managements of temples, mosques, churches, and Gurudwaras across Hyderabad began cleaning activities, followed by special rituals and religious events. These gatherings were held to pray for a prosperous year for their communities and for the well-being of all.

In the meeting, the DCP instructed officials to strengthen security at religious sites, including installing comprehensive CCTV coverage with a backup of at least 30 to 45 days and ensuring adequate lighting both inside and around the temples. The official emphasized the need for trained watchmen for 24/7 security and stressed the importance of regularly emptying garbage bins to prevent stray dogs and animals from scattering food remains.

Executive Officer Sankatala Srinivas reported that 10,000 to 15,000 devotees from various parts of the district and neighboring districts—Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Adilabad, Peddapalli, and Jagtial—gathered to offer special prayers, forming long queue lines. Many devotees also took a holy dip in the Godavari River on the village outskirts before joining the rituals.

"If you vote for the Congress party for freebies, all our temples, homes, and mutts will be handed over to Muslims," Tejasvi Surya stated at a press briefing at the BJP headquarters in Bengaluru.
