The third phase of gram panchayat elections in Telangana witnessed impressive voter participation, with Khammam district recording 88.84 per cent turnout and Kothagudem registering 86.47 per cent. Polling across multiple mandals in both districts remained peaceful, according to officials.

A total of 2.44 lakh voters will cast their votes in the third phase of gram panchayat elections across seven mandals in Khammam district. Elections will be held in 191 gram panchayats amid tight security arrangements

The second phase of gram panchayat elections in Khammam and Kothagudem districts witnessed high voter turnout on Sunday. Around 2.41 lakh voters are set to cast their vote in the first phase gram panchayat elections in Khammam and Kothagudem districts. Election authorities have deployed staff, arranged ballot boxes and set up webcasting at sensitive polling stations to ensure smooth polling.

The nomination process for the first phase of gram panchayat elections commenced in Khammam and Kothagudem districts on Thursday. A total of 192 gram panchayats and 1,740 wards in Khammam, and 159 gram panchayats with 1,436 wards in Kothagudem, have been notified.
