Families in several affected areas start returning to homes

Due to heavy rains in catchment areas of Chevella, Vikarabad, Shankerpally, Shabad and neighbouring areas, there is a steady inflow into Osman Sagar reservoir

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao directed HMWSSB officials to increase the water samples collection and ensure there is no contamination of drinking water.

As a result, water supply through 1500 mm dia Krishna phase III Ring main 1 is stopped affecting supplies to few areas. HMWSSB officials said supplies will be restored in 24 hours.

Residents in the affected areas were asked to disinfect the water sumps and clean the sumps with bleaching powder and then refill with fresh water

Current water level in reservoir is 1763.20 ft against Full Tank Level of 1763.5 ft
