Cash, precious metals, liquor, and other items, worth over Rs 10.35 crore, were seized in Telangana during the last 24 hours, officials said on Sunday.

These new owners, who got licenses to run retail liquor outlets for the next two years (2023-25), will get a chance to open their shops only after the completion of polling.

The seizures took place between October 9 and 16 after the model code of conduct was imposed ahead of the assembly elections to be held on November 7 and 17, it said.

Commissioner of Police Vishnu S Warrier said police seized large amounts of cash along with liquor and ganja in the surprise inspections at check posts, by flying squads and the police under the limits of their respective police stations from October 9 to 14.
