Green India Challenge founder and former MP J Santosh Kumar has been nominated for the Global Green Icon award, to be presented at the House of Lords on April 17. The honour recognises his leadership in sustainability and environmental initiatives

Despite the saplings being lost due to road expansion, Kumar called for replanting efforts to revive Ramaiah’s vision. He also proposed renaming the annual Vanamahotsavam as "Ramaiah Vanamahotsavam" in honor of his enduring legacy.

Women groups were given Rs 10,000 each to plant saplings and protect trees and they were given the responsibility to take care of these plants.

GIC founder and former Rajya Sabha MP Joginpally Santosh Kumar announced that GIC is going to initiate an afforestation program, "Vriskhha Ved Aranya" along with Legendary Forest Man of India Jadav Payeng.

As per doctors’ suggestions, KCR will be under rest for 6 to 8 weeks.
