Even as buzz over a possible Cabinet expansion continued, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Monday. However, officials said the visit was to discuss the forthcoming budget session among other issues.

After TPCC senior vice president G Niranjan appealed to the AICC not to encourage fielding of defectors from BRS in the elections, former MP V Hanumanth Rao expressed similar opinions.

The AICC CEC which met in New Delhi on Tuesday has reportedly kept Khammam ticket selection pending as the committee could not arrive at a consensus over the issue.

The party had even finalised Khammam, Nalgonda or Bhongir as the possible constituencies from where she could fight the elections.

Last week, the State unit had passed a unanimous resolution authorising AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge to finalise the candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections.

The uncertainty over the new Chief Minister of Telangana is still continuing with the AICC leadership holding meetings with observers and other leaders, including contenders for the post, in New Delhi.

The Congress Legislature Party (CLP), which met here on Monday, has authorised AICC Chief Mallikarjun Kharge to appoint the new CLP leader.
