Raja Singh filed the complaint with the Mangalhat police, stating the anonymous caller threatened to kill him if he took out a Shobha Yatra during Sri Ram Navami.

Assembly elections are due to be held towards year-end. Raja Singh was suspended from the BJP last year after he made certain comments hurting the religious sentiments of Muslims. He was also arrested and sent to jail in this case. The party has still not revoked his suspension.

This move is expected to have a cascading effect on the political situation in the entire region, helping the BRS including in the erstwhile Nizamabad, Adilabad, Medak and even Karimnagar districts.
