Task Force Inspector Rana Prathap said a case was registered against Amith from Chandrapur in Maharashtra for smuggling the gutka products.

Prohibited gutka and products were stored in a warehouse of Diamond Transport located in Adilabad I town police station. Value of the gutka and tobacco products was assessed to be 41.31 lakh.

Hours after her father was summoned by the school teacher and informed that his daughter, Anjali Sahu, had developed an addiction to gutka, the student took her own life by hanging herself.

Police have seized gutka, a banned product, worth nearly Rs 16 lakh from a tempo in Mumbai and arrested one person in this connection.

The ban on tobacco products (gutkha, paan masala) in Delhi has been extended for a further period of one year.
