Touring the Bhongir parliamentary constituency, the Leader of Opposition travelled from Suryapet to Bhongir for the roadshow, with people waiting for him in large numbers en route.

Will these things fill our empty stomachs or bring water to our agricultural fields?" he asked, receiving a rousing response from the crowd.

Over the next 17 days, the former Chief Minister plans to conduct roadshows across 12 Lok Sabha constituencies, culminating in a public meeting in Siddipet on May 10.

Stating that phone tapping had nothing to do with the Chief Minister or Ministers, he said it was part of the intelligence gathering system by police officials.

Stating that politics in Telangana was now revolving around ‘votes in the name of the God and abuses against KCR’, Chandrashekhar Rao said the Congress was indulging in baseless allegations due to its incompetence in governance.

Ahead of the tour, a special puja was performed for the bus, named 'Telangana Pragathi Ratham,' at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday.

He said while the K Chandrashekhar Rao government constructed a new building for the orphanage with Rs 20 crore at Nampally in Hyderabad, the new Congress government converted it into a commercial space for office use.

Nama Nageswara Rao said that there was a serious dissent growing among the people against the Congress government which came to power by giving fraudulent promises before the Assembly elections.

The BRS candidates along with the party legislators and other senior leaders are conducting roadshows, community interactions and door-to-door campaign in their respective constituencies.

While former Prime Minister Charan Singh had laid a foundation for ICRISAT before India Gandhi contested from Medak, the foundation for BHEL was laid in 1952.

Besides visiting agricultural fields as part of his 'Polam Bata' initiative, he will address roadshows and corner meetings as part of his bus tour scheduled to commence around April 20-22.

The BRS chief said that the police, under the influence of the Congress government, were suppressing the BRS activists, and asked the officials to act independently by abiding by the rules.
