Officials inform Chief Minister that standing crops to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore damaged across State

The Chief Minister, in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said the State had suffered losses to the tune of Rs 5,000 crore in the heavy rains and subsequent flash floods across the State.

The Chief Minister has asked all officials concerned to come prepared for the meeting since the State government has to submit a report to the Centre on the losses caused by the heavy rains and flash floods in the State.

"The State is endowed with fertile and and a wide variety of soils, good rainfall and skilled farmers to bring revolutionary changes in the cultivation of horticultural crops," he said.
