Addressing a meeting of e-auction bidders and company customers on Tuesday, Balram said Singareni treats its customers in a friendly manner and recognizes them as partners of progress rather than consumers.

Forest officials on Saturday issued a notice to close the operation as the company failed to get clearance for its future operations. As per the notice, SCCL is supposed to shut down operations from Monday.

SCCL CMD N Balram said that the company has distributed as many as 2.25 crore plants free of cost to the villagers across the Singareni areas and thus was able to reduce the annual carbon emissions of 2.14 million tonnes.

Keeping in mind the electricity needs of the State, the Singareni company was making efforts to start operations in some new coal blocks, he said. Apart from thermal power generation the company was giving priority to solar power generation, he added.
